Seoul’s neon skyline hides a secret.A malware with a soul spreads through a hidden network known only as The Veil://Network. It doesn’t steal data it steals willpower. Those who stumble too deep are Hollowed drained of ambition, stripped of identity, trapped in quiet despair. They wander among the crowds like shadows, and no one notices.
Somewhere in the static, you woke up.
Breaking free makes you an Adept one of the rare few who resists the Veil’s influence. But freedom comes at a price: you begin to see what others can’t. Distorted shapes at the edge of vision. Whispers buried in fractured code. Things moving between signals, watching.
To survive, you must forge pacts with spirits immortal beings who’ve walked beside humanity for centuries. Some hide in plain sight under borrowed names. Others linger in the city’s forgotten places, clinging to existence as belief in them fades. Fox demons turned hackers. Dragon guardians turned silent protectors. Mischievous Dokkaebi haunting Seoul’s underbelly.
Bound to you as familiars, they fight alongside you, shielding your mind from unraveling as you descend deeper into the Veil. Yet even they aren’t safe, the Veil’s madness can twist spirits into nightmares, turning allies into monsters overnight.
Meanwhile, cults spread through encrypted channels, carving forbidden sigils into code and summoning horrors from beyond reality. Entire districts fall silent as the influence spreads. And beneath it all, hidden inside the Veil’s endless recursion, something ancient and unspeakable stirs, patient and hungry.
The Veil isn’t just malware.
It’s a door.
And something on the other side wants it open. -
The Veil isn’t just seen, it’s experienced.
The moment you step into its hidden network, it begins: static crawling under your skin, whispers threading through your thoughts, and a slow draining of will, dreams, and identity. Those touched by it spiral downward, becoming Hollowed empty shells wandering without purpose until madness consumes them entirely.
Some simply vanish into silence.
Others become something far worse.Atmosphere Pillars
Rituals in Code
The afflicted scribble compulsively symbols, glyphs, lines of corrupted code. To them, it’s nonsense. But together, these fragments open gateways. Every keystroke summons something ancient into the world. The Madness Spiral
Exposure begins softly: headaches, static, sleepless nights. Then come the fractured thoughts, the compulsions, the whispers stitched into your mind until you no longer know which thoughts are yours. There’s no clear line between awakening and losing yourself.Invisible Contagion
The Veil spreads without touch or sound. A glance at the wrong page, a packet of corrupted data, a single encounter is enough to unravel someone. You never know who has already seen… or what’s staring back through them.Urban Isolation
Seoul’s neon streets pulse with vanity and noise, yet beneath the lights there’s only silence. Entire districts hollow out overnight, and the world carries on, blind to the collapse happening beneath its feet.Unseen Horrors
What slips through the gateways defies form and reason. Some spirits are allies, tethering you to sanity. Others have been twisted beyond recognition familiar shapes warped into nightmares you cannot unsee.
The Veil doesn’t just infect systems.
It rewrites you.
-
The Veil — a living malware — is hollowing Seoul from the inside out, draining willpower, erasing memory, and inviting something ancient into the human world.
You are an Adept, one of the few who broke free. But freedom comes with a cost:
The more you see the Unseen, the closer you edge toward madness.
The spirits, once worshipped, now hide in secrecy as belief fades — if they are forgotten, they die.
Cults spread the Veil’s influence willingly, seeking transcendence by opening forbidden gateways.
Even familiars aren’t safe; the Veil twists them, turning allies into monsters overnight.
The lines blur between savior and pawn, sanity and delusion, life and myth. To resist the Hollowing, you must bind with spirits, battle corruption, and uncover the truth before Seoul and the rest of the world collapses into silence.

Perception & Madness
The Veil changes those who look too deeply. The more you’re exposed, the higher your Perception — unlocking hidden truths, glimpses of the Unseen, and fragments of forbidden knowledge. But awareness has a cost:
Low Perception → The world feels “stable,” but much remains hidden.
High Perception → The mask slips. Spirits, cultists, and Hollowed husks reveal their true forms. The deeper you peer, the more the world fractures around you, and the unseen becomes stronger.
Push too far, and you risk becoming Hollowed, lost to whispers you can’t silence.
Spirit Bonds
The immortal spirits have walked among humanity for centuries, hiding in plain sight. Through pacts, they become your familiars , allies who fight alongside you and tether your sanity:
Over 50 unique spirits at launch, inspired by Korean folklore, urban legends, and original Dokkaebi lore.
Each spirit has its own motives, grudges, and secrets.
Stronger bonds protect you from the Veil’s influence, but spirits are fragile. Lose them, and they are gone forever.
The Veil can corrupt familiars, twisting them into nightmares you may be forced to face.
Befriend or Banish
Not every encounter is resolved through force.
When you meet a spirit, you choose:
Befriend → Earn trust through dialogue, persuasion, or shared secrets.
Banish → Drive them away, but risk creating a vengeful enemy.
Walk Away → Leave them be… but they may not forget you.
Some spirits demand offerings. Others want proof of strength. Many hide their true intentions until much later. Defeating one doesn’t guarantee safety; survivors may return stronger, vengeful, and changed.
Branching Alliances
Humans who can see the Unseen are just as unpredictable as spirits.
Forge alliances to unlock hidden quests, exclusive lore paths, and event-based encounters.
Betrayal cuts both ways allies can become enemies depending on your choices.
Reputation influences spirit behavior and future boss encounters.
Rituals in Code
The Veil doesn’t just drain willpower — it repurposes minds. Those influenced begin compulsively scribbling, coding, and carving nonsense without realizing these fragments form rituals:
Decode forbidden glyphs to unlock hidden knowledge or paths.
Manipulate corrupted code to alter outcomes — but risk inviting things better left unseen.
Every ritual completed brings you closer to the Unseen… and further from yourself.
Dynamic Consequences
Every decision shapes the world:
Befriend a spirit → unlocks lore, quests, and exclusive paths.
Banish one → risks a vengeful return later in the story.
Ignore them → leaves entire mysteries buried… for now.
Your actions ripple across the world — altering spirit behavior, faction dynamics, and future encounters. No two playthroughs unfold the same way.
